Life Right Now

Sometimes my husband and I go out to eat on our Date Night, other times I make a homemade vegan pasta carbonara and we have Date Night at home. Pasta, a glass of red wine and Pumpkin spice kettle corn for dessert equals an awesome Date Night in my world!

July and October are my favorite months of the year! I love enjoying the beauty of nature and going for bike rides in October. This is one of my favorite places to take a break in the middle of my workout and just enjoy the peace and quiet for a little while.

Going for an evening walk along the beach is another hobby of mine that I treasure in October.

October also means that I get to enjoy Pumpkin Spice Muffins as a sweet snack every week.

In between my sweet snacks I eat boring but healthy snacks like crackers with roasted garlic hummus dip.

On a rainy and cold Fall weekend I love staying indoors in my favorite home clothes; sweatpants and my husband's t-shirt. I light candles around the house and enjoy reading books or Home Decor magazines. Life is good!

October Days

It's the last week of October and I'm trying to savor every last moment of this beautiful month, one of my favorite months of the year. I love living in the suburbs this time of year, the colorful trees decorate the neighborhood so beautifully. The maple is my favorite tree, the world would be a less beautiful place without the maple tree. I'm convinced that it's the same way with every human being, we all have something beautiful and unique to offer to the world. The question is will we ever realize that ourselves and put our unique gifts to use in the world? We can keep our gifts to ourselves or we can share them with the world around us.

One of my favorite hobbies in the fall is to spend my evenings reading new books. I've already taken quite a few trips to the book store this fall, I'm definitely keeping the authors and book stores in business. I buy psychology books, books by Christian authors and of course cooking books. Another one of my favorite hobbies during fall is to try new recipes. The Best Baked Sweet Potato recipe in the book "Deliciously Ella Every Day" by Ella Woodward has become one of my favorite dinners this fall. It's easy to make, healthy and tasty! :)

My Weekend Plans

This weekend I'm hoping I will be able to take another trip to the beach on either Saturday or Sunday. Last weekend was warm and wonderful and I spent most of my Sunday at Wasaga Beach. This Friday my husband and I have offered to babysit the cutest little baby boy we know, it's going to be a lot of fun! :)

I plan to treat myself to at least one iced latte this weekend. During the summer you can never have too many iced lattes if you ask me. :)

I'm also planning to have a date night with my favorite guy in the world on Saturday.

In case it becomes a rainy weekend I'm planning to lay in bed and read one of my favorite books right now: "The Good and Beautiful Life" by James Bryan Smith. This book really challenges me to keep growing with chapters like: "Learning to Live Without Worry" and "Learning to Live Without Judging Others".

I'm also hoping I will get the chance to enjoy at least one beautiful sunset during the weekend. This picture is from Sunday evening at Wasaga Beach last week. I'm wishing you all a fun and relaxing weekend! :)

My Weekend

On Sunday I started my day with my favorite combination Church&Brunch, first some food for the soul and then some food for the stomach. :) Pastor John preached a very helpful message in the series called "Take Heart".

I also took a visit to the book store during the weekend to check out some magazines and new books I want to buy. Cameron Diaz was on the cover of many magazines and I love how she wants to encourage women to embrace the age they are at, rather than to strive to be "forever young". Go Cameron!

It was rainy in Toronto this weekend so my husband and I decided to go watch a movie together on Saturday. The movie theater was packed so I guess a lot of people thought the same way. On Sunday we spent a lot of time with our family members which is always fun. It was a good weekend and now I'm rested and ready for a new week again.

On a rainy day

Saturday was a grey and rainy day here in Toronto but I didn't mind because I had a long list of errands to run.

I decided to take a break in the middle of the day and visit Chapters. The book store is my "Candy Store", it's filled with so many wonderful books that I want to read.

"Kisses from Katie" is a book I definitely want to take the time to read this year. I'm fascinated by radically generous and loving people like Katie Davis. Katie has a passion for orphans, so at a young age she decided to leave her comfortable life in the US behind and move to Uganda. She later adopted 13 children in Uganda and she feeds and supports hundreds of more children through her ministry called Amazima.

There's so many different books I want to read at Chapters but I decided to start with "Restless" by Jennie Allen.

This weekend I also decided it was time to start getting into the Christmas spirit. Yes it's a little early, but hey, it makes grey November so much more fun! I decided to enjoy one of my favorite Holiday treats: White Chocolate& Peppermint flavored popcorn. Life is good! :)
